The Australian Skills Vouchers Programme provides financial assistance to eligible Australians who want to improve their work skills.

Through this programme, eligible Australians may now apply for a voucher which helps cover the cost of specific types of training. This training is available through approved training providers across Australia.

Work Skills Vouchers worth up to $3000 are now available to interested Australians aged 25 and over who do not have Year 12 or a certificate level II qualification.

The qualifications available through the Australian Work Skills Voucher Program are:

Certificate II in Nail Technology

Certificate II in Retail Cosmetic Services

Certificate II in Makeup Services

The vouchers will improve the basic skills of Australians currently in the workforce or looking for work who have no formal qualifications. 

Improvements in basic skills will help people who are already in employment to move into higher level positions and assist those who are looking for work to find jobs.

How to apply

1.  Check eligibility by going to the website:   www.australia.gov.au/skillsforthefuture or phone 13 38 73

2.  If you are eligible and wish to train in beauty, call PBCA on

(07) 3210 1455 to arrange an appointment

3.  Bring proof of identity to the appointment

4.  At the appointment, you will receive all the information and be briefed on the Certificate II qualifications available and/or your options

5.  PBCA will inform the Department of Education, Science and Training of the course you have chosen

6.  The Department of Education will then mail you a voucher for the cost of the course you have enrolled in

7.  You will then present the voucher to PBCA when you start your course
